Pharmacy Delivery

Pharmacy and Medication Delivery in Dayton, Ohio

Pharmacy-to-facility and pharmacy-to-patient medication delivery with temperature monitoring, signature confirmation, and chain-of-custody documentation. Controlled-substance handling available.

About Our Pharmacy Delivery

Pharmacy logistics is one of the highest-stakes segments of medical courier work. A specialty medication can run several thousand dollars per dose, requires strict temperature control, and is often part of a treatment schedule the patient cannot afford to miss. A discharge medication for a patient already on the way home needs to arrive before the family pulls into the driveway. A controlled substance has its own federal recordkeeping rules. Exodus Health Couriers handles all three. Pharmacy-to-facility routes between retail and specialty pharmacies, hospitals, infusion centers, and long-term care facilities in the Dayton metro run on dedicated drivers with signature capture at delivery and temperature monitoring throughout transit. Pharmacy-to-patient delivery for discharge medications, specialty Rx, and home-infusion supplies includes the same documentation, with delivery directly to the patient or an authorized recipient. Controlled-substance transport follows 21 CFR Part 1301. DEA-scheduled substances remain under our control between the registered pharmacy and the receiving facility, with constant observation during transfer and a documented chain of custody. We do not transport bulk controlled-substance shipments outside our authorized scope; for in-scope handoffs, the documentation rigor matches the federal requirement. Cold-chain handling covers ambient, refrigerated (2 to 8 degrees C), and frozen configurations with continuous temperature monitoring. Biologics, specialty Rx, and infusion products that require strict temperature integrity are handled under our standard cold-chain protocol with documentation included. For Dayton-area pharmacies serving home-infusion patients, long-term care facilities, or specialty oncology programs, scheduled routes are typically the lowest-cost configuration. STAT pharmacy delivery is available 24/7 for hospital discharges, time-sensitive specialty fills, and missed-dose recovery.

How Pharmacy Delivery Works

  1. 1

    Account setup

We confirm the pharmacy's licensure, the delivery scope, and the patient or facility roster. For controlled-substance handoffs, we align documentation to your DEA registration requirements.

  2. 2

    Route or STAT dispatch

Scheduled routes run on the agreed cadence with a dedicated driver. STAT requests dispatch the nearest qualified driver with the right cold-chain equipment.

  3. 3

    Pickup with documentation

Driver receives the medication from the pharmacy, captures a pickup signature and photo, seals the medication in a tamper-evident bag, and starts GPS tracking.

  4. 4

    Delivery and signature

Driver delivers to the patient or facility, captures the receiving signature, confirms the tamper-evident seal is intact, and closes the chain of custody.

  5. 5

    Documentation flows to your records

Pickup and delivery documentation, GPS log, and (where applicable) temperature log are available through your account portal for compliance and audit.
